Book spring work now.
Winter’s the time to plan.

When the ground dries out, everyone calls at once. Property owners who plan during the wet months get on the calendar first, and they get the information they need while the water is easiest to see.

Why plan now
- Spring fills up. The first dry weeks bring the most calls. An early quote gets you a spot in line.
- Permits take time. Ponds, septic and building work can need approvals before anyone digs. See our posts on pond permits and septic excavation.
- You can see the water. Winter shows where water collects, runs and pools. That’s the information that drives drainage, grading and where to put a pad.
- Sequence matters. Clearing, grading and site prep have a right order, and each step needs the one before it. See the clearing, grading and site-prep order that saves money.
What to do this winter
- Walk the property in the rain and photograph where water goes.
- Decide the goal and the deadline. Pasture by May? A pad before the shop arrives? A pond permitted?
- Send us photos and a rough description. We’ll tell you what we see and what the job probably involves.
- Start permits early if the job needs them.
What helps us quote it
- The address or general location.
- Photos of the area, plus the worst or wettest spot.
- What you want when it’s done.
- Any deadlines, such as a build start or an inspection.
- If it involves rock, the area and depth. Our rock calculator converts that to tons.
Typical spring jobs
Land clearing and brush removal, pasture reclaim, grading and leveling, building and RV pads, ponds, septic excavation and driveways. Details are on our services page, and pricing shows typical ranges.
